Well, well, well. . . we knew it was only a matter of time. Download Bored of Edukation on Amazon now! It’s a single 4:46 song for 99 cents. I’ll pass on the Tunecore link for those not in the US as soon as I can.
Dudes, did you know Bob Mould was writing his autobiography? How come nobody tells me this stuff!
This is an awful lot of news for a damn Friday. What the hell people?

September 12th, 2008 at 10:48 pmMy jury is still out on the song. I do like the whole Icarus/Daedalus thing, but that myth just appeals to me on a really personal level. However, musically, it might be a bit, I dunno, boring?

September 12th, 2008 at 10:58 pmOh, I have much more colorful examples…i use them sparingly, so as not water down their impact. So when I say Fuckballs!, you know I mean Fuckballs!

September 12th, 2008 at 11:03 pmI gotta say the fuckballs got me to listen to the demo. I’ve been in resissue denial because I’m having a hard time justifying the $50 or whatever when I haven’t had a job since March. Boo!
However, Kiss me on the Bus is pretty damn good.

September 12th, 2008 at 11:21 pmBob needs to move back here, or back to Texas. “District Line” was good, but too peppy. Nothing brings a body down like the perpetual construction in the Twin Cities. Except for being in Texas…

September 12th, 2008 at 11:22 pmI agree Jonathon. All I know is that if Bobby boy isn’t dishing some dirt on the whole Grant thing I am going to be crying BULLSHIT at the top of my lungs.

A teacher Says:
September 13th, 2008 at 2:28 am50% of me likes it, cause it’s Paul. The other 50%, as a teacher, thinks it just contributes to the bashing of today’s education. Paul was bored. Is Johnny? Was everyone? Is there a better way?
Paul’s hate of education did him well. He wakes up, gets his coffee, and goes down to the basement to record songs. Damn, wish I could do that with a masters in Ed.
Is there a better way to educate kids?

September 13th, 2008 at 4:50 amThe song is alright, but there are better songs that appear as only snippets on 49:00 and 3oclockreep. Would have preferred this as a part of one of those songs, and had a full version of Devil Raised a Good Boy or Goodnight Sweet Prince.
I give it 3 out of 5 crackers. And Bob Mould’s new album is set to be released in February of 2009, which means we should be seeing it around Labor Day of 2011. He also plans a full band tour to follow. Hope it’s more like Body of Song and less like District Line.

I think today’s education needs a little bashing, O btw.

September 15th, 2008 at 9:40 amI look forward to Grant Hart’s retaliatory bio. Then Bob’s bio to answer that bio. Then Grant’s. Then Bob. Greg will continue staying out of it and being a kickass chef. We should all be kickass chefs.

September 15th, 2008 at 10:38 amThat’s pretty good, Phil!
I get the feeling that Grant would welcome a Husker Du reunion. His solo career hasn’t taken off like Bob’s, and it was he that initiated playing a couple of songs with Bob at the Rock For Karl benefit. Also, when I saw Bob and his band play First Avenue in ‘05, Grant was reportedly in the audience.
I do like Hart’s solo projects. I wish he would release something new.
